On March 6 and 7, 2015, in various cities across China, public security officials rounded up at least 10 women, each of whom sought to mark International Women’s Day with a nation-wide campaign highlighting the increase in sexual harassment on public transportation. Their goal? To pass out leaflets and stickers calling for the end of such sexual harassment and for the police to take some action against sexual harassment on public transportation.

While five of these 10 women have been released, five were officially criminally detained on Friday allegedly under the Chinese government’s increasing catch-all for ideas and speech it does not like: “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.”

I have no doubt China abuses the "picking quarrels" section of the legal code, but in this case, it is a perfect example of what such a law is designed to combat. These feminists were trying to copy the American SJW (social justice warrior) tactic of "picking quarrels" over "man spreading" on subways and attacking video games. China's had enough of the Long Marches and anything that even hints at the Cultural Revolution, which Western feminism increasingly resembles, is not going to be popular in China. This was a time where women went from being women to becoming their closest possible form of working men. Hair was short and make up was absent, women went from being unequal to non-existent in their sexuality.

Gender erasure is the ultimate suppression of sexuality; gender politics were reduced to class politics, traditional prejudices and discriminations against women continued in less overt ways, women lost the means to articulate feminism and what femininity is completely as it disappeared from their society and culture as a whole.

The video game industry is now in its sixth month of a major battle between video gamers and game journalists, after the journalists were exposed as corrupt (trading sex for positive game reviews/coverage) and interested in pushing political ideology (Super Mario is sexist) over doing objective game reviews. SR: GamerGate has been a massive consumer revolt and it’s still going strong after 6 months. But you’re one of very few game designers to speak out in favor of it. Why do you think this is?

VD: Game developers, especially the experienced ones, pay considerably less attention to game journalists than gamers do. Most of the designers I’ve spoken to about it consider it to be just another media tempest in a teapot and ignore it. SR: As a game developer, what are your thoughts on people like Anita Sarkeesian, with her “Tropes vs. Women” videos that purport to show that the gaming industry is biased against women, and in many cases outright hates them? Has this been your experience in the industry?

VD: Anita Sarkeesian is a fame-whore and con artist. She’s not a gamer, she doesn’t know a damn thing about the game industry, she lies shamelessly about it, and anyone who supports her is, at best, uninformed. The gaming industry is not biased against women, it is merely one of the few industries that doesn’t reflexively bow before feminist activism. If there is any bias in the industry now, it is a bias against men, given that some of the larger companies have openly embraced sexual discrimination through the “women in technology” initiatives.

Rector told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last week that the lifetime costs of Social Security and Medicare benefits paid to the millions of immigrants to whom Obama is granting legal status will be about $1.3 trillion.

That is actually a lowball figure based on 4 million amnestied. If it's 5 million, the cost is closer to $1.6 trillion, just for Social Security and Medicare. I did not count those benefits in my $500 billion estimate, I was looking only at tax breaks (such as EITC and child tax credits) and local costs such a public schools.

DAPA recipients, according to Rector's calculations, will receive $7.8 billion every year once they get access to the refundable earned income tax credit and the refundable additional child tax credit.

The average DAPA-eligible family already receives about $6,600 a year in means-tested welfare benefits. That includes food stamps, school lunch (and breakfast), Medicaid, the State Children's Health Insurance Program and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.

They don't even consider local education costs.

There's no way the country can afford these new welfare recipients. There will be massive cuts in welfare spending. Not from Congressional spending cuts, but from currency devaluation. The U.S. dollar is in the middle of a bull market right now, but when this market breaks, the U.S. dollar will begin its long collapse.

Putnam was disturbed by his own findings, which show diversity causes a decline in social trust and a breakdown in communities. Putnam summing it up:

In the presence of [ethnic] diversity, we hunker down. We act like turtles. The effect of diversity is worse than had been imagined. And it’s not just that we don’t trust people who are not like us. In diverse communities, we don’t trust people who do look like us.

Now he's back with a less shocking finding, but equally disturbing to the Cathedral.

“It has not leveled the playing field at all in terms of the difference between rich kids and poor kids,” Putnam told MarketWatch. Though it’s not the fault of the technology — or the kids, he adds.

As for technology, most of the kids Putnam profiles in the book had smartphones, but the poorest ones tended to use the devices “in completely different, mindless ways,” he said. “Not that this is their fault.”

“Compared to their poorer counterparts, young people from upper-class backgrounds (and their parents) are more likely to use the Internet for jobs, education, political and social engagement, health and newsgathering, and less for entertainment and recreation,” Putnam writes. “Affluent Americans use the Internet in ways that are mobility-enhancing, whereas poorer, less educated Americans typically use it in ways that are not.”

It is a reversal of the trend since the early days of the Industrial Revolution, which mainly created democratic technologies that closed gaps. The ditch digger swapped a shovel for a backhoe, allowing him to do the labor of 20 men at once. Now, the Internet allows the intelligent to create the equivalent of a backhoe for their brain, leveraging their intelligence. At the same time, machines are beginning to replace the bottom rung of intelligent workers. Meanwhile, progressive immigration and social policy is literally the worst of all possible worlds, destroying social capital for the people who need it more than ever.

Stage Three: finally, when the formerly superior power has been weakened enough, withdraw all tokens of equality and impose subordination.

The Cycles—or Stages—of Chinese History

There is no existential threat from China, instead they are a competitor nation seeking to shift the global balance of power in their favor. While India is more friendly to the U.S., it too will seek a similar shift in global power. India's economy is awakening and has already surpassed China as the fastest growing. Within a decade, India will be at least as powerful economically as China was a decade ago. Simple math says the U.S. will be eclipsed by far larger economies and trying to maintain leadership is a fool's errand that will bankrupt the nation.

The current U.S. response seems to fall into two camps. One continues to waste American blood and treasure on efforts that will surely fail, if only due to math. The other seeks to give up power as an end unto itself, a reflexively anti-American quasi-isolationism. There is a third way: a rational, self-interested foreign policy, something largely missing since the end of the Cold War. Instead of unsustainable pathological altruism, the U.S. should aim to conserve and accumulate wealth and power. U.S. hegemony is over and this is not a bad thing or a good thing, but a new thing that cannot be stopped, short of an imperialistic war for global domination. Progressives do love war though.

Clashes await. Frey sometimes has a sharp eye for them. Only 23% of those born in the Baby Boom generation and before believe America’s new diversity is a “change for the better”; 42% call it a change for the worse. The interests of America’s aging, infertile white population and its young, fecund immigrants will necessarily diverge, in ways that have nothing to do with anyone’s good or ill will. Both groups are dependent on government services, but in different ways. Sixteen percent of whites are over 65, versus 7% of minorities. The former, broadly speaking, want cheap drugs, lavish pensions, and a labor market in which young people will push wheelchairs and fix meals for next to nothing; the latter want new schools for their children, government-funded day care, and a so-called living wage. This year, for the first time, white families are supporting more dependent seniors than children. For them, the welfare state is no longer in any sense an “investment,” the way its social-democratic designers used to claim. It is, to use an appropriately Baby Boom expression, a drag.

If Baby Boomers wanted to do one thing to help their children, they would vote to abolish Social Security and Medicare, and tear down the entire welfare state. (There could still be a program to fund existing recipients, but the system must be designed to die when the Boomers die). If they do not, when they pass from this world the state apparatus of wealth extraction will ramp itself up and eradicate the wealth of their children and grandchildren. The welfare state is a wealth extraction system and the wealth is increasingly concentrated among minorities. Whites babies are already a minority. Asians are a minority. Jews are a minority. And together, they will be hated, as they are all over the world (see Amy Chua's World on Fire).

Such statistics lend themselves to reflections about decadence and to questions about what it is we are really importing. It is not so much diversity, perhaps, and not so much labor, as traditional families. A third of Hispanic households consist of families in which a married couple lives with children, and a third of Hispanics are under 18. A third of Asian-American households consist of these families, too, and the country’s Asian population is now ten times what it was in 1970. Among whites, by contrast, such families make up only a fifth of households—except in those rare communities nationwide where the white population is growing. There, white habits resemble those of immigrants, with a third of families consisting of married couples and children.

Two points. One, the nuclear family is the core of a civilized society. If you want to help build civilization, get married, stay married and have children. Avoid divorced people and single mothers. Divorce, like obesity, is contagious. Move to a traditional, religiously centered community and you will meet positive peer pressure. Even if you're in a bad area, join organizations that favor/promote/help the family. Two, if amnesty is defeated and immigration is severely restricted, the native population will stabilize as the infertile natives die off and the fertile natives increase. We only need to win one victory. Everything else is a complete distraction. ISIS, taxes, cultural marxism, all of it is secondary and tertiary to preventing demographic replacement because those battles will be decided by demographics. Here's a funny part:

This may be because Southerners are nicer than Northerners, but Frey argues persuasively that the federal government was more able to enforce the Fair Housing Act of 1968 in new housing than in old, and most new housing built after 1968 was in the Sunbelt. By measures not just of segregation but also of income, poverty, and educational attainment, blacks today do considerably better in states that were segregated until the 1960s than in states that were not.

But once whites are a negligible part of the electorate, whose incomes (or life expectancies, or college achievements) are aggrieved minorities’ to be contrasted with? If blacks remain poor when whites are merely another L.A. minority, what kind of remedies will be suggested by the Mexican-American power structure and its Asian supporters? If whites are poorer than, say, Asians, against whose incomes will the poorest minorities’ be calibrated? Assuming whites cannot be transformed from a repentant majority into a scapegoat minority (on the model of European Jews historically, or the Chinese in Southeast Asia more recently), then our ability to make “voluntary” inter-ethnic transfers of money, jobs, and prestige may be nearing its end.

Imagine that progressives try to take money from a white minority in California and Asians do have higher income. What is more likely, that everyone piles onto the whites, or the whites turn on the smaller Asian minority and they become the scapegoats hated by all? It is the Jews and Asians who are going to end up in the line of fire when America is on fire because there are far more poor whites.

People like to say America is an idea. I still believe it is. But what is going on in America today is an attempt to replace the American idea with the European imported progressive idea. This isn't being done by a battle of ideas, but demographic replacement. The progressive solution to the problem of American exceptionalism is to reduce everything to race. If the progressives win, everything will be lost. American will no longer be an idea, not even a progressive idea, but a battlefield of tribal warfare. It will be America devolved into a greater Yugoslavia. We still have a chance to fight for America, but the day is fast approaching when we may be forced to cut bait. To engage with a tribal America is to be pulled into base tribalism. Instead, if there is no way to save America the physical, we must preserve America the ideal in our own families and communities. A new nation.

Fox News Isn't Your Friend

No enemies to the right, but Fox isn't on your right on amnesty. Fox is your enemy and the enemy of all Americans who want to preserve liberty. They aren't actively attacking liberty like the left-wing media, but amnesty is the one issue that overwhelms everything else. If amnesty passes, it is game over for America. All of the population projections you've heard of whites being a minority by 2050 are optimistic forecasts.

Most of the mainstream broadcast and cable networks avoided giving excessive coverage to the recent congressional fight over the Department of Homeland Security, which was all about Republicans trying to block Obama’s executive amnesty by attaching restrictions to DHS funding. NBC Nightly News went a step further and avoided mentioning the immigration issue even when covering the funding fight — treating the threat of a DHS shutdown as if it were some sort of out-of-the-blue natural disaster. But it’s one thing for Dem-friendly NBC to go to bat for Obama’s causes. It’s another if Fox does it too. Fox is supposed to be the feisty opposition network. You’d think it would wage a rousing campaign against Obama’s executive actions on immigration, which are surely wildly unpopular among its viewers, both because of their ends (de facto legalizing of illegals) and their means (presidential overreach). You’d think that. But you would be wrong.

The media's refusal to report on identity leads to unintended trolling of their audience. I clicked the latter article thinking WTF, why are white girls getting their genitals mutilated? The image in my head was a Spring Break college student. Turns out they are Somalis with Western passports.

A few weeks ago, I learned that students are exposed to this sort of thinking well before crossing the threshold of higher education. A misleading distinction between fact and opinion is embedded in the Common Core. Fact: Something that is true about a subject and can be tested or proven. Opinion: What someone thinks, feels, or believes. ...Students are taught that claims are either facts or opinions. They are given quizzes in which they must sort claims into one camp or the other but not both. But if a fact is something that is true and an opinion is something that is believed, then many claims will obviously be both. For example, I asked my son about this distinction after his open house. He confidently explained that facts were things that were true whereas opinions are things that are believed. We then had this conversation: Me: “I believe that George Washington was the first president. Is that a fact or an opinion?” Him: “It’s a fact.” Me: “But I believe it, and you said that what someone believes is an opinion.” Him: “Yeah, but it’s true.” Me: “So it’s both a fact and an opinion?” The blank stare on his face said it all.

It is not only Common Core, but the fact that this is a part of Common Core shows how much worse things will be if you send your children to a public school or a private school which bases its curriculum on bad philosophy and morality, or worse, amorality. Vox:

In summary, our public schools teach students that all claims are either facts or opinions and that all value and moral claims fall into the latter camp. The punchline: there are no moral facts. And if there are no moral facts, then there are no moral truths.

Border Patrol: Increase in Sex Offenders Crossing the Border

Border Patrol agents are running into more sex offenders this year than last year.

Within the last five months, 144 apprehended.

During the same time last year, 93 sex offenders were caught trying to fly under the radar.

In December, a woman from El Salvador was picked up, who was convicted of child sex assault back in 2009. It reportedly happened in Dallas County.

Later that month, three Mexican nationals were caught near Harlingen.

In February, seven sex offenders were rounded up near McAllen, Harlingen, Falfurrias and Kingsville.

Less than a week later, another two Mexican nationals were caught. Two days ago, two Guatemalan men were arrested.

The sex offenders go to great lengths to avoid capture. Agents said they often travel through South Texas brush and try to blend in with large groups of illegal immigrants.

Unions Back Unelectable Republican to Draw Votes from Reform Democrat

Next week, on March 17th, voters in the East Bay area of Northern California will decide who will fill a state senate seat. Or, more likely, they will pick two candidates who will face one another in a runoff election. In this race, there are three viable candidates – all Democrats. The lone Republican candidate, Michaela Hertle, dropped out of the race and threw her support behind Steve Glazer, a moderate pro-business Democrat who appears to be a good fit for this fiscally conservative, socially moderate district.

The problem is that Glazer is hated by powerful public sector labor organizations. From their view, he had the audacity to oppose a BART strike – which inconvenienced tens of thousands of Bay Area commuters – and, even worse, he said he would not support a change in Proposition 13’s rules regarding property owned by businesses.

Labor organizations would like nothing more than to prevent Glazer from being one of the top two vote getters next week. If that occurs, then the only candidates appearing on the ballot in the May runoff election would be two tax-and-spend, labor compliant, left leaning Democrats.

Obama, by promising that he wanted to be president of all Americans, then governing as a highly partisan Democrat, has laid the groundwork for a hazardous future for the United States, hardly helped by his public indulging of black nationalism, particularly his incautious discussion of crimes both real and imagined against African Americans. However verboten discussion of white nationalism is at present among polite Americans, it is unavoidable that this will become an issue in the future, with potentially explosive consequences — to say nothing of the rise of Hispanic and Asian nationalisms too, as the United States becomes even more diverse than Yugoslavia was.

...The fate of Yugoslavia was anything but preordained. The United States, whatever its problems, is a far richer and better-run state than anything created by Tito. But the same threats lurk, particularly those of economic degradation caused by debt and made impossible to fix thanks to toxic racial politics. America need not become a vast Balkan horror show — I think it’s more likely in coming decades to become a huge nuclear-armed Brazil, with entrenched economic inequality, often among racial lines, that I find noxious and unworthy of our country — but the fate of Yugoslavia must be avoided at all costs. Our next Civil War would be much more vicious and protracted than the last one, have no illusions.
