Hatefacts From Dating Websites Or Diversity For Thee, But Not For Me

Body type, political views, and religion are also related to the exclusion of blacks or Asians. Among white women, one of the most striking findings is that white women who describe themselves as slim, slender, athletic, fit or average are nearly seven times as likely to exclude black men as dates as women who describe themselves as thick, voluptuous, a few extra pounds, or large. [ed:  ] For white men, body type has no effect on their likelihood of excluding blacks or Asians. While political views also have no effect on racial exclusion by white men, white women who describe themselves as liberal or very liberal are less likely to exclude black men as dates than women who are not political, middle of the road, or conservative. Surprisingly, liberal white women appear more likely to exclude Asian men as dates, although this finding only borders on significance.

Finally, religion affects black exclusion, and Asian exclusion among white women. Specifically, we see that whites who identified as Jewish were dropped from the analysis of black exclusion because it was a perfect predictor; that is, all white men and women who identified as Jewish excluded blacks as possible dates; all white women who identified as Jewish also excluded Asian men as possible dates. Further, white men who do not state a religion or who state their religion as “other” are far more inclusive of black women as dates than those who describe themselves as not religious. Likewise, white women of “other” religions are more likely to include Asian males as dates.

One Step Closer to Civil War: Cathedral Launches Nukes At Indiana

The Left goes full retard and launches a hate campaign against Indiana. Here's the NYTimes:

Eroding Freedom in the Name of Freedom
But over time, court decisions and conservative legal initiatives started to change the meaning of those laws, according to liberal activists. The state laws were not used to protect minorities, these critics say, but to allow some religious groups to undermine the rights of women, gays and lesbians or other groups.

“The coalition broke apart over the civil rights issues,” said Eunice Rho, a lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union. The organization, which initially supported the measures, now opposes them unless they include language ensuring that they will not be used to permit discrimination or harm.
It's usually a good idea to not read the NYTimes, since there's seldom any news or truth put out by the organization, but when you do read a NYTimes article, it's always good to stick around because at some point, some truth might be accidentally included:
Robert Katz, a professor at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law, said that Indiana already had strong constitutional protections for religious belief and that the new law seemed to result more from fear of same-sex marriage than from any demonstrated need.

Whether it will result in many legal cases is unclear, he said, but its impact has already been felt because “the law communicates values.” “It communicates to gay and lesbian people that their rights could potentially take a second seat,” he said. “It is part of the culture wars.”
It's just Culture Wars people. Indiana made a counter-attack and the Cathedral responded with nuclear weapons. Seattle's mayor and Connecticut's governor banned official travel to Indiana. Angie's List and other companies threatened to leave the state. Even Republicans have piled on, such as the Mayor of Indianapolis and the Governor of North Carolina, revealing they are either traitors in the Culture Wars or clueless morons.

Exit question: does Governor Mike Pence (and the Indian legislature) have the balls of Gamergate, or will he fold like a lawn chair?

Harry Lee Quotes

The Irish Savant lists several good Harry Lee quotes:
If you don't include your own women graduates in the breeding pool and leave them on the shelf, you would end up a more stupid society... So what happens? There will be less bright people to support dumb people in the next generation.

Equal employment opportunities, yes, but we shouldn't get our women into jobs where they cannot, at the same time, be mothers...our most valuable asset is in the ability of our people, yet we are frittering away this asset through the unintended consequences of changes in our education policy and equal opportunities for women. This has affected their traditional role … as mothers, the creators and protectors of the next generation.

Industrial Scale Rape of Young Girls in the UK

The mass rape of girls in the UK is far more widespread than previously believed. It was only last year we learned of 1400 raped girls in Rotherham, now there are 400 more cases in Oxfordshire. The British government at all levels looks far worse than the Catholic Church, which covered up priest abuse, but did not allow churches to operate industrial scale rape gangs. For British politicians, however, industrial scale rape of what is likely tens of thousands of young girls across Britain is a small price to pay for not being called racist by SJWs.

Hundreds of young people groomed and sexually exploited by gangs in Oxfordshire for 15 years but police and social service failed to stop it, report to reveal
According to the Guardian, one 12-year-old girl was taken to a Reading house for a backstreet abortion during a six-year period where she was passed between groups of men who raped her in what she called 'torture sex'.

The plight of the victims was laid bare in 2013 when seven members of a sadistic gang were jailed for a total of 95 years for their 'depraved' and 'evil' abuse of vulnerable girls.

Five gang members were given life sentences and two others were jailed for seven years for 'crimes of the utmost gravity'.

The paedophile network groomed more than 50 vulnerable girls in Oxford between 2004 and 2012 with gifts, alcohol and drugs before subjecting them to extreme physical and sexual violence.

They used knives, meat cleavers and baseball bats to inflict severe pain on the girls for their twisted pleasure.
British Girls Raped by Muslim Gangs on "Industrial Scale"
According to the Telegraph, local authorities across Britain are expending "considerable intellectual effort" into finding reasons not to conduct mandatory public investigations into child sexual abuse out of a fear of "negative publicity."

An investigation cited by the paper found more than 30 instances where local authorities refused to conduct a Serious Case Review, which is required by law whenever a child is seriously harmed as a result of abuse. When investigations were conducted, in many cases the reports failed to examine how "fear, overwork, timidity, willful blindness and over-optimism" had led social workers to make bad decisions.

America is a Country

China Shuts Down Feminists

China knows the damage that can be wrought by Marxist inspired ideologies. Yes, the CCP is still in charge, but they are increasingly anti-Marxist in their outlook, especially when it comes to issues that impact the birth rate.

Without Committing a Crime, Five Female Activists Detained in China
On March 6 and 7, 2015, in various cities across China, public security officials rounded up at least 10 women, each of whom sought to mark International Women’s Day with a nation-wide campaign highlighting the increase in sexual harassment on public transportation. Their goal? To pass out leaflets and stickers calling for the end of such sexual harassment and for the police to take some action against sexual harassment on public transportation.

While five of these 10 women have been released, five were officially criminally detained on Friday allegedly under the Chinese government’s increasing catch-all for ideas and speech it does not like: “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.”
I have no doubt China abuses the "picking quarrels" section of the legal code, but in this case, it is a perfect example of what such a law is designed to combat. These feminists were trying to copy the American SJW (social justice warrior) tactic of "picking quarrels" over "man spreading" on subways and attacking video games. China's had enough of the Long Marches and anything that even hints at the Cultural Revolution, which Western feminism increasingly resembles, is not going to be popular in China. Peak feminism was reached in the 1960s as part of Mao's plan for turning society upside down:
However the ultimate transformation that allowed for these other changes to occur under Mao was, that the state diminished patriarchal family power through replacing family units with collective units as the base unit of production and accounting. This was done in part because of Mao’s goal to turn China into an industrialized society. This nation-building project called for the mobilization of a female labor force. However, what occurred was not truly the process of bringing women into the workforce but instead bringing more “people” into the workforce.

This last statement is better explained through the term “gender erasure”, the erasure of the female gender. The concept of “gender erasure” exposes the adverse impact the decline of binary genders had on the trajectory of feminism. Gender erasure reached its peak during the Cultural Revolution when unisex dress code was implemented, it was said that from the back you could not tell a female worker from a male worker. Kang Xiujin, a woman of the Maoist era states in a piece written by Mayfair Mei-hui Yang, “You only felt like a women when you gave birth; at other times you don’t exist as a woman”. This was a time where women went from being women to becoming their closest possible form of working men. Hair was short and make up was absent, women went from being unequal to non-existent in their sexuality.

Gender erasure is the ultimate suppression of sexuality; gender politics were reduced to class politics, traditional prejudices and discriminations against women continued in less overt ways, women lost the means to articulate feminism and what femininity is completely as it disappeared from their society and culture as a whole.
The video game industry is now in its sixth month of a major battle between video gamers and game journalists, after the journalists were exposed as corrupt (trading sex for positive game reviews/coverage) and interested in pushing political ideology (Super Mario is sexist) over doing objective game reviews. Here's a recent interview with game designer Vox Day.

SR: GamerGate has been a massive consumer revolt and it’s still going strong after 6 months. But you’re one of very few game designers to speak out in favor of it. Why do you think this is?

VD: Game developers, especially the experienced ones, pay considerably less attention to game journalists than gamers do. Most of the designers I’ve spoken to about it consider it to be just another media tempest in a teapot and ignore it. Thanks to my blog and syndicated columns, I’m a minor public figure and a controversial one at that, so it costs me nothing to speak out on the subject. Having been publicly hated by the SJWs for over a decade gives me carte blanche.

But most developers aren’t bloggers or media figures, they aren’t interested in taking flak for simply doing their jobs, and they certainly have no interest in talking to a media that would rather discuss the cup size of a female character than any of the game mechanics or other aspects of development on which they spend all their time. Most developers are quietly in favor of GamerGate. Even the artists, who tend to lean politically left, chafe at the idea of being told what they can and cannot draw.

SR: As a game developer, what are your thoughts on people like Anita Sarkeesian, with her “Tropes vs. Women” videos that purport to show that the gaming industry is biased against women, and in many cases outright hates them? Has this been your experience in the industry?

VD: Anita Sarkeesian is a fame-whore and con artist. She’s not a gamer, she doesn’t know a damn thing about the game industry, she lies shamelessly about it, and anyone who supports her is, at best, uninformed. The gaming industry is not biased against women, it is merely one of the few industries that doesn’t reflexively bow before feminist activism. If there is any bias in the industry now, it is a bias against men, given that some of the larger companies have openly embraced sexual discrimination through the “women in technology” initiatives.
A quick explanation of Gamergate:

More in depth:

Should feminists be put in jail for picking quarrels? Not in America. But if it's against the law to pick quarrels in a country, you shouldn't pick quarrels. You also should not discuss the monarchy in Thailand, when in Thailand, if you don't want to go to jail.

Elderly Thai man jailed for 'royal insult' graffiti
An elderly Thai man was jailed by a military court Friday for scrawling graffiti in a shopping mall toilet critical of the country's junta leaders and its revered king.

Thailand's monarch Bhumibol Adulyadej, 87, is protected by one of the world's toughest royal defamation rules under which anyone convicted of insulting the king, queen, heir or regent faces up to 15 years in prison on each count. Ophas Chansuksei, a 67-year-old pin-badge vendor, received a year and a half sentence for writing anti-monarchy and anti-government messages in an eastern Bangkok mall last October.
Ten years in jail for insulting Thailand's king
A Swiss man became the first foreigner in more than a decade to be convicted under Thailand's tough lese-majeste laws yesterday when he was jailed for 10 years for insulting the country's king.

Oliver Jufer, 57, from Zurich, had admitted defacing images of King Bhumibol Adulyadej during a drunken rampage with a can of spray-paint that he had bought to use on his dog's kennel.

More Banana Bucks For Amnesty

In Let The Banana Bucks Flow: Executive Amnesty Could Cost More Than Bush Tax Cuts, I guessed at a ball park a cost for amnesty:
For 5 million people alone, these costs could easily skyrocket to $500 billion, exceeding the level of the Bush tax cuts.
Turns out I'm easily off by a factor of three.

The Many Costs Of Obama's Executive Amnesty
Rector told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last week that the lifetime costs of Social Security and Medicare benefits paid to the millions of immigrants to whom Obama is granting legal status will be about $1.3 trillion.
That is actually a lowball figure based on 4 million amnestied. If it's 5 million, the cost is closer to $1.6 trillion, just for Social Security and Medicare. I did not count those benefits in my $500 billion estimate, I was looking only at tax breaks (such as EITC and child tax credits) and local costs such a public schools.

DAPA recipients, according to Rector's calculations, will receive $7.8 billion every year once they get access to the refundable earned income tax credit and the refundable additional child tax credit.
The average DAPA-eligible family already receives about $6,600 a year in means-tested welfare benefits. That includes food stamps, school lunch (and breakfast), Medicaid, the State Children's Health Insurance Program and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.
They don't even consider local education costs.

There's no way the country can afford these new welfare recipients. There will be massive cuts in welfare spending. Not from Congressional spending cuts, but from currency devaluation. The U.S. dollar is in the middle of a bull market right now, but when this market breaks, the U.S. dollar will begin its long collapse.

Here Come the Machines

Steve Wozniak:

"If we build these devices to take care of everything for us, eventually they'll think faster than us and they'll get rid of the slow humans to run companies more efficiently."
There's a bit too much optimism behind the predictions of Skynet-style Armageddon where the machines take over. On the other hand, the Wozniak quote above is something we'll see within the next 5 to 10 years.

Harry Lee on Equality

Always Take Liberal Advice

But do the opposite.

Cruz is likely far too extreme ideologically to win the nomination. The Republican party has a habit of nominating relatively moderate candidates (see John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012). That’s especially the case when the party has been out of the White House for more than one term. A Cruz nomination wouldn’t just break this streak; it would throw it off a 100-floor balcony and drop a piano on it.
Let’s Be Serious About Ted Cruz From The Start: He’s Too Extreme And Too Disliked To Win

Governors are far better choices for president and the best ticket, in my opinion, is a combination of Walker and Pence. If nothing was accomplished besides the abolition of public sector unions nationwide, it would be a worthwhile victory. That said, dropping a piano on the Republican nomination strategy from 2008 and 2012 is also a very good idea.

Deport All the Illegals and Assimilate The Legal Immigrants

Nothing matters except winning the immigration debate.< br />
No Hispanic Surge On The Horizon
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), native-born Hispanic Americans’ total fertility levels fell below replacement levels for the first time two years ago. A recent CDC survey reports that Hispanic total fertility rate (TFR) has fallen for an unprecedented eighth straight year, while the percentage of children born to Hispanic parents has fallen for seven years in a row.
End the flood of migrants and the Democrats dream of population replacement is over, consumed by their own materialistic ideology.

Putnam Trolls The Cathedral Again

Our buddy Robert Putnam is back trolling himself and the Cathedral. If you don't remember the name, Putnam published Bowling Alone. Sailer covered it in Fragmented Future. Putnam was disturbed by his own findings, which show diversity causes a decline in social trust and a breakdown in communities. Putnam summing it up:
In the presence of [ethnic] diversity, we hunker down. We act like turtles. The effect of diversity is worse than had been imagined. And it’s not just that we don’t trust people who are not like us. In diverse communities, we don’t trust people who do look like us.
Now he's back with a less shocking finding, but equally disturbing to the Cathedral.

Rich kids use the Internet to get ahead, and poor kids use it ‘mindlessly’
“It has not leveled the playing field at all in terms of the difference between rich kids and poor kids,” Putnam told MarketWatch. Though it’s not the fault of the technology — or the kids, he adds.

As for technology, most of the kids Putnam profiles in the book had smartphones, but the poorest ones tended to use the devices “in completely different, mindless ways,” he said. “Not that this is their fault.”

“Compared to their poorer counterparts, young people from upper-class backgrounds (and their parents) are more likely to use the Internet for jobs, education, political and social engagement, health and newsgathering, and less for entertainment and recreation,” Putnam writes. “Affluent Americans use the Internet in ways that are mobility-enhancing, whereas poorer, less educated Americans typically use it in ways that are not.”

These are some great quotes, but these two are the best because it's like a connect the dots game with only two dots:
“Just because teens can get access to a technology that can connect them to anyone anywhere does not mean that they have equal access to knowledge and opportunity.”

“At least at this point in its evolution, the Internet seems more likely to widen the opportunity gap than to close it.”
News flash: the Internet is devolving! The Internet is like the library, but with a movie theater, an arcade and hookers. The big shift over the past decade has been online streaming of entertainment and massively multiplayer online games. If anything, the Internet is evolving in a direction that aims for a more complete mindlessness for those who seek it. In the future, people won't do drugs. They'll get high on virtual reality.

Today, technology causes a widening gap between haves and have nots (intelligence, character, discipline, work ethic, etc.). It is a reversal of the trend since the early days of the Industrial Revolution, which mainly created democratic technologies that closed gaps. The ditch digger swapped a shovel for a backhoe, allowing him to do the labor of 20 men at once. Now, the Internet allows the intelligent to create the equivalent of a backhoe for their brain, leveraging their intelligence. At the same time, machines are beginning to replace the bottom rung of intelligent workers. Meanwhile, progressive immigration and social policy is literally the worst of all possible worlds, destroying social capital for the people who need it more than ever.

Well trolled Mr. Putnam, well trolled.

China Replacing USA in Asia

The U.S. is blindly heading for servitude to China, if not world war.

Washington Blinks: Will Seek Partnership With China-Led Development Bank
Because the AIIB effectively represents the beginning of the end for US hegemony, the White House has demeaned the effort from its inception questioning the ability of non-G-7 nations to create an institution that can be trusted to operation in accordance with the proper “standards.” Now, with 35 nations set to join as founders, it appears Washington may be set to concede defeat.
China's plan is very simple.
Stage One: start by conceding all that must be conceded to the superior power including tribute, in order to avoid damage and obtain whatever forbearance is offered. But this in itself entangles the ruling class of the still-superior power in webs of material dependence that reduce its independent vitality and strength.

Stage Two: offer equality in a privileged bipolarity that excludes all lesser powers, or “G-2” in current parlance. That neutralizes the still powerful Other party, and isolates the manipulated soon-to-be former equal from all its potential allies, preventing from balancing China with a coalition.

Stage Three: finally, when the formerly superior power has been weakened enough, withdraw all tokens of equality and impose subordination.
The Cycles—or Stages—of Chinese History

There is no existential threat from China, instead they are a competitor nation seeking to shift the global balance of power in their favor. While India is more friendly to the U.S., it too will seek a similar shift in global power. India's economy is awakening and has already surpassed China as the fastest growing. Within a decade, India will be at least as powerful economically as China was a decade ago. Simple math says the U.S. will be eclipsed by far larger economies and trying to maintain leadership is a fool's errand that will bankrupt the nation.

The current U.S. response seems to fall into two camps. One continues to waste American blood and treasure on efforts that will surely fail, if only due to math. The other seeks to give up power as an end unto itself, a reflexively anti-American quasi-isolationism. There is a third way: a rational, self-interested foreign policy, something largely missing since the end of the Cold War. Instead of unsustainable pathological altruism, the U.S. should aim to conserve and accumulate wealth and power. U.S. hegemony is over and this is not a bad thing or a good thing, but a new thing that cannot be stopped, short of an imperialistic war for global domination. Progressives do love war though.

Paglia: Western Culture on the Verge of Collapse

Do You Want To Destroy America or Save America?

Chris Caldwell's review of Diversity Explosion: How New Racial Demographics Are Remaking America, by William H. Frey

The Browning of America
Clashes await. Frey sometimes has a sharp eye for them. Only 23% of those born in the Baby Boom generation and before believe America’s new diversity is a “change for the better”; 42% call it a change for the worse. The interests of America’s aging, infertile white population and its young, fecund immigrants will necessarily diverge, in ways that have nothing to do with anyone’s good or ill will. Both groups are dependent on government services, but in different ways. Sixteen percent of whites are over 65, versus 7% of minorities. The former, broadly speaking, want cheap drugs, lavish pensions, and a labor market in which young people will push wheelchairs and fix meals for next to nothing; the latter want new schools for their children, government-funded day care, and a so-called living wage. This year, for the first time, white families are supporting more dependent seniors than children. For them, the welfare state is no longer in any sense an “investment,” the way its social-democratic designers used to claim. It is, to use an appropriately Baby Boom expression, a drag.
If Baby Boomers wanted to do one thing to help their children, they would vote to abolish Social Security and Medicare, and tear down the entire welfare state. (There could still be a program to fund existing recipients, but the system must be designed to die when the Boomers die). If they do not, when they pass from this world the state apparatus of wealth extraction will ramp itself up and eradicate the wealth of their children and grandchildren. The welfare state is a wealth extraction system and the wealth is increasingly concentrated among minorities. Whites babies are already a minority. Asians are a minority. Jews are a minority. And together, they will be hated, as they are all over the world (see Amy Chua's World on Fire).

Such statistics lend themselves to reflections about decadence and to questions about what it is we are really importing. It is not so much diversity, perhaps, and not so much labor, as traditional families. A third of Hispanic households consist of families in which a married couple lives with children, and a third of Hispanics are under 18. A third of Asian-American households consist of these families, too, and the country’s Asian population is now ten times what it was in 1970. Among whites, by contrast, such families make up only a fifth of households—except in those rare communities nationwide where the white population is growing. There, white habits resemble those of immigrants, with a third of families consisting of married couples and children.
Two points. One, the nuclear family is the core of a civilized society. If you want to help build civilization, get married, stay married and have children. Avoid divorced people and single mothers. Divorce, like obesity, is contagious. Move to a traditional, religiously centered community and you will meet positive peer pressure. Even if you're in a bad area, join organizations that favor/promote/help the family. Two, if amnesty is defeated and immigration is severely restricted, the native population will stabilize as the infertile natives die off and the fertile natives increase. We only need to win one victory. Everything else is a complete distraction. ISIS, taxes, cultural marxism, all of it is secondary and tertiary to preventing demographic replacement because those battles will be decided by demographics. Here's a funny part:

This may be because Southerners are nicer than Northerners, but Frey argues persuasively that the federal government was more able to enforce the Fair Housing Act of 1968 in new housing than in old, and most new housing built after 1968 was in the Sunbelt. By measures not just of segregation but also of income, poverty, and educational attainment, blacks today do considerably better in states that were segregated until the 1960s than in states that were not.
Yes, the North is more racist and hostile to minorities than the South. What is up with those racist progressives?
But once whites are a negligible part of the electorate, whose incomes (or life expectancies, or college achievements) are aggrieved minorities’ to be contrasted with? If blacks remain poor when whites are merely another L.A. minority, what kind of remedies will be suggested by the Mexican-American power structure and its Asian supporters? If whites are poorer than, say, Asians, against whose incomes will the poorest minorities’ be calibrated? Assuming whites cannot be transformed from a repentant majority into a scapegoat minority (on the model of European Jews historically, or the Chinese in Southeast Asia more recently), then our ability to make “voluntary” inter-ethnic transfers of money, jobs, and prestige may be nearing its end.
Imagine that progressives try to take money from a white minority in California and Asians do have higher income. What is more likely, that everyone piles onto the whites, or the whites turn on the smaller Asian minority and they become the scapegoats hated by all? It is the Jews and Asians who are going to end up in the line of fire when America is on fire because there are far more poor whites.

People like to say America is an idea. I still believe it is. But what is going on in America today is an attempt to replace the American idea with the European imported progressive idea. This isn't being done by a battle of ideas, but demographic replacement. The progressive solution to the problem of American exceptionalism is to reduce everything to race. If the progressives win, everything will be lost. American will no longer be an idea, not even a progressive idea, but a battlefield of tribal warfare. It will be America devolved into a greater Yugoslavia. We still have a chance to fight for America, but the day is fast approaching when we may be forced to cut bait. To engage with a tribal America is to be pulled into base tribalism. Instead, if there is no way to save America the physical, we must preserve America the ideal in our own families and communities. A new nation.

Fox News Isn't Your Friend

No enemies to the right, but Fox isn't on your right on amnesty. Fox is your enemy and the enemy of all Americans who want to preserve liberty. They aren't actively attacking liberty like the left-wing media, but amnesty is the one issue that overwhelms everything else. If amnesty passes, it is game over for America. All of the population projections you've heard of whites being a minority by 2050 are optimistic forecasts.

Here is the Mickey Kaus anti-amnesty article that was pulled from Daily Caller for fear of retribution from Fox.

Fox Makes It Easy for Amnesty

Axelrod’s Wish: On page 424 of his recent memoir, Obama’s former top strategist David Axelrod describes running into Fox chieftain (and immigration amnesty supporter) Rupert Murdoch at a dinner in the fall of 2010:
During the dinner, Murdoch, who was seated beside me, insisted that the president had to move on immigration reform. …. “But the solution has to be comprehensive,” I said.
“We can’t just attack a piece of the immigration problem. And you know, there’s one big thing that you can do to help, and that is to keep your cable network from stoking the nativism that keeps us from solving this.” [Emphasis added]
Four years later, Axelrod may be getting his wish. Most of the mainstream broadcast and cable networks avoided giving excessive coverage to the recent congressional fight over the Department of Homeland Security, which was all about Republicans trying to block Obama’s executive amnesty by attaching restrictions to DHS funding. NBC Nightly News went a step further and avoided mentioning the immigration issue even when covering the funding fight — treating the threat of a DHS shutdown as if it were some sort of out-of-the-blue natural disaster. But it’s one thing for Dem-friendly NBC to go to bat for Obama’s causes. It’s another if Fox does it too. Fox is supposed to be the feisty opposition network. You’d think it would wage a rousing campaign against Obama’s executive actions on immigration, which are surely wildly unpopular among its viewers, both because of their ends (de facto legalizing of illegals) and their means (presidential overreach). You’d think that. But you would be wrong.

Are You Cathedral?

They're Not Westerners

HBD discusses a new pet peeve of mine: what’s in a name?
we have words for things — give names to things — for a reason: to help in identifying those things and to communicate something about them. and — and perhaps i am and have always been misguided about this — i thought the idea of naming things was to aid in the communication process, not make it all more confused. but i’m beginning to think i might’ve been wrong about this.

at the very least, i think someone like abaaoud — a second-generation immigrant to belgium with (i don’t think) any belgian or european ancestry whatsoever — ought to be called a moroccan-belgian. to aid in the communication process.
She goes into a long discussion of different tribes in Ireland that are still useful for identifying things such as political party. It's worth it to read the whole post.

I remember hearing about an American pastor detained in North Korea and I thought, why did he go there? He'd stick out like a sore thumb. Turns out he is first-generation American.

In all the reports of "Westerners" going to join ISIS, nearly all of them are Muslims, first and second-generation immigrants. You see a headline: Brit joins ISIS and are shocked, until you realize it's a first-generation Pakistani. Or you read about Americans traveling from Ebolaland and wonder, why the heck is an American over there? Aside from aid workers, they tend to be African immigrants, American in passport only.

The media's refusal to report on identity leads to unintended trolling of their audience. Such as: A Fight as U.S. Girls Face Genital Cutting Abroad and Western girls holiday in Kenya to undergo FGM in secret. I clicked the latter article thinking WTF, why are white girls getting their genitals mutilated? The image in my head was a Spring Break college student. Turns out they are Somalis with Western passports.

There's great potential for trolling. What's cool for 2015? FGM! Find out why more and more Americans are mutilating their daughters' genitals. Think of all the ways you can make progressives really uncomfortable with headlines. Is it time to stone homosexuals? More and more Americans say yes! (You know they'll click that one expecting Cletus Biblethumper).

Our Children Are Being Programmed

Do what thou feel

A few weeks ago, I learned that students are exposed to this sort of thinking well before crossing the threshold of higher education. A misleading distinction between fact and opinion is embedded in the Common Core. Fact: Something that is true about a subject and can be tested or proven. Opinion: What someone thinks, feels, or believes. ...Students are taught that claims are either facts or opinions. They are given quizzes in which they must sort claims into one camp or the other but not both. But if a fact is something that is true and an opinion is something that is believed, then many claims will obviously be both. For example, I asked my son about this distinction after his open house. He confidently explained that facts were things that were true whereas opinions are things that are believed. We then had this conversation: Me: “I believe that George Washington was the first president. Is that a fact or an opinion?” Him: “It’s a fact.” Me: “But I believe it, and you said that what someone believes is an opinion.” Him: “Yeah, but it’s true.” Me: “So it’s both a fact and an opinion?” The blank stare on his face said it all.
It is not only Common Core, but the fact that this is a part of Common Core shows how much worse things will be if you send your children to a public school or a private school which bases its curriculum on bad philosophy and morality, or worse, amorality. Vox:
In summary, our public schools teach students that all claims are either facts or opinions and that all value and moral claims fall into the latter camp. The punchline: there are no moral facts. And if there are no moral facts, then there are no moral truths.

You know your society is screwed when your problems have become so numerous that you mostly just sit back and look forward to how they will intersect and interfere with each other, in their numerous and varied attempts to destroy all that is good.

Border Patrol: Increase in Sex Offenders Crossing the Border
Border Patrol agents are running into more sex offenders this year than last year.

Within the last five months, 144 apprehended.

During the same time last year, 93 sex offenders were caught trying to fly under the radar.

In December, a woman from El Salvador was picked up, who was convicted of child sex assault back in 2009. It reportedly happened in Dallas County.

Later that month, three Mexican nationals were caught near Harlingen.

In February, seven sex offenders were rounded up near McAllen, Harlingen, Falfurrias and Kingsville.

Less than a week later, another two Mexican nationals were caught. Two days ago, two Guatemalan men were arrested.

The sex offenders go to great lengths to avoid capture. Agents said they often travel through South Texas brush and try to blend in with large groups of illegal immigrants.

NYTimes has been literally running non-stop with this. Steve Sailer posted this on March 4:

The Future of Electoral Politics in America

As goes California, so goes the nation.

Unions Back Unelectable Republican to Draw Votes from Reform Democrat
Next week, on March 17th, voters in the East Bay area of Northern California will decide who will fill a state senate seat. Or, more likely, they will pick two candidates who will face one another in a runoff election. In this race, there are three viable candidates – all Democrats. The lone Republican candidate, Michaela Hertle, dropped out of the race and threw her support behind Steve Glazer, a moderate pro-business Democrat who appears to be a good fit for this fiscally conservative, socially moderate district.

The problem is that Glazer is hated by powerful public sector labor organizations. From their view, he had the audacity to oppose a BART strike – which inconvenienced tens of thousands of Bay Area commuters – and, even worse, he said he would not support a change in Proposition 13’s rules regarding property owned by businesses.

Labor organizations would like nothing more than to prevent Glazer from being one of the top two vote getters next week. If that occurs, then the only candidates appearing on the ballot in the May runoff election would be two tax-and-spend, labor compliant, left leaning Democrats.

Disney Corp Pushes Porn Again

More porn via Grantland, which is connected to Disney via ESPN.

Grantland Joins the Porn Normalization Push
As they were sending their fey little black kid down to Selma, they were also sending their good little feminist to the AVN awards in Vegas. It is a debacle of sex positive garbage that you would expect from Jezebel. The entire thing is another entry in the normalize porn for women campaign.

Lambert is Molly Lambert who normally criticizes Mad Men for not being 21st century progressive enough. Here she is selected to go to the AVN awards in Vegas. She makes the proper David Foster Wallace references since he started the “intelligentsia observes the porn degenerates” schtick by going to the AVN awards show roughly two decades ago. Lambert reveals she is a consumer of the industry and knows some things by growing up in the valley. There is the obvious "meet a new girl" routine, that quite frankly is getting cliché. See this new girl is empowered, independent, strong, choosing to do this, creative and oh look, she is reading a book. Reading a book, and not just a fun fiction book, is part of the SWPL sale of porn being okay. This time around it is “Hero With a Thousand Faces”. When they did an article on James Deen, it was Kayden Kross reading a David Foster Wallace book. They love to show pics of Sasha Grey holding serious books, but alas she is never seen reading them.

Blinding Syphilis!

Blinding cases of syphilis found on West Coast, now potentially in L.A.
Public health officials across the West Coast are urging medical professionals to look out for cases of ocular syphilis – a sexually transmitted disease that can cause blindness – after two potential cases in Los Angeles recently.

Some of the patients also are HIV positive, including six in San Francisco. In Seattle, two of the patients went blind.

Why Is It Dangerous To Follow The Law?

Vox contemplates, The danger of being correct.
Apparently the New York Times is operating on outcomes-based logic. We're supposed to believe that our entire system of law is threatened by a state court's legally correct position? If being correct is "dangerous defiance", what does that make those being defied?

He's referencing the Alabama gay marriage case and responding to the NYTimes here:
Since the United States Supreme Court will rule on gay marriage in June, it’s easy to dismiss the Alabama court’s ruling as quixotic. But it raises a real issue: not what state courts can do, but rather what they should do. Because state and federal courts operate on entirely separate tracks, the state court’s position that it need not follow lower federal court rulings is technically correct. Yet if our judicial system is to function smoothly, both court systems must, from time to time, refrain from exercising their legal discretion to ignore the other’s handiwork.

Several states and cities are currently ignoring federal drugs laws and openly violating federal immigration law. Marriage is just one more thing.

The Rise of Private Police

The Cathedral is in slow motion collapse. It can no longer preserve the peace, so private citizens are taking over policing from the state.

Private police carry guns and make arrests, and their ranks are swelling
It has its origins in English common law, and the first Virginia statute was enacted in 1860 to allow proprietors of “watering places” to protect their establishments.

Most SCOPs patrol corporate campuses, work for neighborhood associations or perform code enforcement for counties or cities, but Youlen has pushed the model further by creating his own “department” and turning policing into an enterprise. He contracts his services to nine apartment and housing communities in the Manassas area. That’s up from one in 2012.

Experts say Virginia’s increase is SCOPs is part of a nationwide uptick in private security that began in the 1970s and accelerated after the Sept. 11 attacks. The number of private security guards — nearly 1.1 million — dwarfs the 640,000 public police officers, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Yugoslavia the Blueprint

Yugoslavia’s Warning to America
Playing political games with race and ethnicity in any multinational society is a dangerous thing. Obama, by promising that he wanted to be president of all Americans, then governing as a highly partisan Democrat, has laid the groundwork for a hazardous future for the United States, hardly helped by his public indulging of black nationalism, particularly his incautious discussion of crimes both real and imagined against African Americans. However verboten discussion of white nationalism is at present among polite Americans, it is unavoidable that this will become an issue in the future, with potentially explosive consequences — to say nothing of the rise of Hispanic and Asian nationalisms too, as the United States becomes even more diverse than Yugoslavia was.

...The fate of Yugoslavia was anything but preordained. The United States, whatever its problems, is a far richer and better-run state than anything created by Tito. But the same threats lurk, particularly those of economic degradation caused by debt and made impossible to fix thanks to toxic racial politics. America need not become a vast Balkan horror show — I think it’s more likely in coming decades to become a huge nuclear-armed Brazil, with entrenched economic inequality, often among racial lines, that I find noxious and unworthy of our country — but the fate of Yugoslavia must be avoided at all costs. Our next Civil War would be much more vicious and protracted than the last one, have no illusions.
