The Failure of the GOP

A good article at Vox explaining how the GOP dominates local politics. If the GOP were truly an opposition party, it would halt advances by the national government with a unified opposition at the state level, or a disorganized multi-front opposition by various states. Instead, the progressive juggernaut rolls on. So the Democrats are in disarray and the GOP is winning election after election down ballot, but USG doesn't care. This is rule by "the Cathedral," elections don't matter.

Democrats are in denial. Their party is actually in deep trouble.

Outside In takes another view:

If the GOP take the presidency, of course, they reset back to homeostatic bi-polar alternation, degenerative quasi-equilibrium, and democratic functionality — which is disaster. So for the GOP, the question is how to stay out of the White House (without seeming to want to), while incrementally subverting the central organs of national executive power. When the decay process reaches the stages where large burning chunks are falling off, it’s critical that there’s a Democrat in the Oval Office to explain on cable news how it isn’t ze fault.

Yglesias seems to think the Republicans might do something with the presidency of right-wing significance, which is (of course) laughable on its face. The Union Executive exists to take the coming fall, and nothing else. With that kept firmly in mind, everything can go swimmingly.

There is something to be said for joining the local party apparatus.

Public officials named in new findings from FBI probe of ‘Shrimp Boy’ Chow

Evidence from the prosecution of Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow potentially implicates a wide array of city and state leaders, including Mayor Ed Lee, in alleged bribery schemes, pay-to-play plots, campaign fund laundering and state construction contract rigging.

According to a Tuesday filing by Chow’s attorneys in federal court, which includes never-before-released details and names from a yearlong investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mayor Lee, some of The City’s leadership, an Alameda County prosecutor and a state official were all named in alleged wrongdoing caught on tape or witnessed by undercover FBI agents or their sources.

The allegations are outlined in the documents, but those named have not been charged in relation to the investigation, and several have denied the allegations.

The Fire Rises

Progressives are hypocrites. A favorite past-time for the right involves pointing out how Progressives doing X is ignored or cheered, conservatives doing X are lambasted. For people who haven't heard of the Cathedral, it is always a teachable moment.

As the society created by the Cathedral comes undone, hypocrisy will disappear. Not because the Progressives will go away, but because the right will adopt the left's tactics.

Crowdism Is Rabbitism

Leftists conceal their agenda behind accusations

Most people fall to understand that Crowdism exists for a single reason, which is to avoid consequences of the actions of those in the Crowd. They fear any higher standard which will reveal them to be dumber, more shortsighted, less moral, or of deprecated utility compared to others. They want a zero standard which approximates the lowest possible so that they have no chance of failing. Their hope is to avoid any confrontation with reality, or those who notice reality, by discriminating against those of higher intelligence while simultaneously accusing that group of discriminating against the “disadvantaged,” a.k.a. anyone not doing so well under a reasonably realistic social system.

The goal of Crowdism — and by extension, of liberalism — is to avoid those who might notice that the Crowd ideal is out of line with reality. Crowdists work to make jobs into mind-numbing tedium, society into a series of bureaucratic tasks, and to ruin the family and any other honest attributes of society. This drives away the smarter people, who require more from life than bread and circuses, and allows the idiots to take over. This is the sole reason for their focus on discrimination; they are guilty of it themselves, and they want to distract from this so that no one notices the ongoing removal of the smart and their replacement with obedient near-dunces who, in the time-honored tradition of those smart enough to make fun of others but not understand their own failings, will proclaim themselves natural leaders and promptly push their civilization into ruin.

One of the many great insights in The Evolutionary Psychology Behind Politics was how rabbits favor indirect conflict and even random violence. The K-selected seek out direct confrontation and enjoy competition. Rabbits (r-selected) flee competition and fear being judged for their actions. K-selected abhor random violence more than conflict, r-selected prefer random violence to conflict.

r-selected do not like it when K-selected analyze a crime or violent situation, such as when a husband beats his wife and you learn the wife had subjected him to hours of psychological abuse before hand, or you see Michael Brown's strong-arm robbery, grabbing an officers gun and charging the officer, or Trayvon Martin being involved in possible criminal activities and wanting to beat up a "creepy ass cracker," or a rape victim getting blitzed at a bar and going home with a stranger. r-selected do not want to see others judged, lest they themselves be judged. This leads to bizarre charges of people "deserving" what they got, but this only opens another window into r-selected psychology. They know/fear they deserve punishment.

In discrimination, the r-selected fear being judged, and instead of allowing a system where the hard working, intelligent, considerate and helpful are rewarded, they create a system that redirects the discriminatory impulse towards removing those who would likely be best positioned to judge them in the workplace or organization.

Unions Back Unelectable Republican to Draw Votes from Reform Democrat

Next week, on March 17th, voters in the East Bay area of Northern California will decide who will fill a state senate seat. Or, more likely, they will pick two candidates who will face one another in a runoff election. In this race, there are three viable candidates – all Democrats. The lone Republican candidate, Michaela Hertle, dropped out of the race and threw her support behind Steve Glazer, a moderate pro-business Democrat who appears to be a good fit for this fiscally conservative, socially moderate district.

The problem is that Glazer is hated by powerful public sector labor organizations. From their view, he had the audacity to oppose a BART strike – which inconvenienced tens of thousands of Bay Area commuters – and, even worse, he said he would not support a change in Proposition 13’s rules regarding property owned by businesses.

Labor organizations would like nothing more than to prevent Glazer from being one of the top two vote getters next week. If that occurs, then the only candidates appearing on the ballot in the May runoff election would be two tax-and-spend, labor compliant, left leaning Democrats.

But I’ve come to understand that anarcho-tyranny, properly used, is a much more specific diagnosis. It is describing a particular set of adaptations that societies are forced to use when they’re living in the aftermath of a collapse in what I’ll call social technology. ......We use the term “technology” when we discover a process that lets you get more output for less investment, whether you’re trying to produce gallons of oil or terabytes of storage. We need a term for this kind of institutional metis – a way to get more social good for every social sacrifice you have to make – and “social technology” fits the bill. Along with the more conventional sort of technology, it has led to most of the good things that we enjoy today.

This fits into this recent post on The Right Stuff on Context Denial, in regards to race. Or as Sailer would put it, noticing things. Leftism in the pursuit of equality denies all context and refuses to notice things. This is why we can't have nice things.

Anarcho-Tyranny is what might be called social sabotage: the destruction of social technology. There is cost, but little to no benefit. Trade-offs are in the middle. Social technology delivers large benefits for small costs.

Problem: high crime in minority neighborhoods
Social technology: deploy police into minority neighborhoods and increase police presence (which could mean physical bodies or tougher policies) until crime rate declines
Context denial: conflate random shootings by white people as equivalent to far higher non-random minority murders
Social sabotage: promote universal police laws that are solely a burden for low crime areas and do nothing to reduce crime rates, such as gun control

Problem: exploding Muslims
Social technology: find the exploding Muslims (as is done in Israel) or deport all Muslims and restrict their entry
Context denial: everyone is a potential terrorist because Oklahoma City
Social sabotage: pass universal airport screening and security checks that burden the 99.9% non-terrorists; spend precious police resources investigating milita groups who play paintball on the weekends

Problem: illegal immigration
Social technology: control the border; find and deport illegal immigrants; ask business to help
Context denial: Europeans came to America with no checks in 1750 so Bangladeshis can come to America in 2014 with no checks
Social sabotage: the State Department implements a labyrinth system of immigration checks on legal immigrants, subjecting them to extensive background checks, medical checks and forcing native citizens to be legally liable if said immigrant ends up on welfare; visitors are all assumed to be immigrants and must pass extensive background checks, denying millions of potential tourists entry. Department of Homeland Security keeps the borders wide open to illegal immigrants and grants them an extended stay in the U.S. free from prosecution; does not check them for diseases and ferries them around the country, spreading disease as far and wide as possible. Propose a national ID system and allow all illegals to stay permanently.

For every failure, the policy response is to tighten universal controls. One shoe bomber? Everyone take off your shoes at the airport. One underwear bomber? Full body x-ray. One iPhone bomb carried in terrorist's anal cavity? ......

Since it is the principle of democratic legitimation that NRx denounces, its models are restricted to a far more compact class than ‘non-democracies’ — namely, to non-demotic states: with absolute monarchies and colonial regimes as the purest historical examples, supplemented by restricted-franchise commercial republics (17-18th century United Provinces and United Kingdom*), (still virtual) Joint-Stock Republics, and demotically-compromised Confucian Autocracies, plus rightist military juntas (since Pinochet cannot reasonably be excluded). As soon as regimes of such types are statistically amalgamated with socialist / populist dictatorships, the theoretical chaos is irredeemable.

Juggalo culture, and Black-Presenting “wiggers” are usually the most derided subset of American whites by anyone with any sort of education or sense of identity. The newly-surfaced TSA letter was penned on August 7, according to the Gateway Pundit. It was reportedly sent from the TSA to Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-TX), a member of the Border Security Caucus. The letter confirms that illegal aliens are being allowed to board planes using a Notice to Appear form (also known as I-862), as Darby revealed in July. 

Hector Garza, a spokesman for the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) told Darby that Notice to Appear forms can "easily be reproduced or manipulated on any home computer. The Notice to Appear form has no photo, anyone can make one and manipulate one. They do not have any security features, no watermark, nothing. They are simply printed on standard copy paper based on the information the illegal alien says is the truth."

ESPN has suspended another host. This one admitted that 20+ years ago, his girlfriend (now his wife) slapped him, so he slapped her back. They were both drunk and in college. This follows the suspension of another host who said you have to look at the facts of a case in domestic abuse situations. ESPN also suspended another host for making a joke billboard.
